DES Summer meeting 2025 in Copenhagen with international speakers
Now we can finally unveil the theme of the DES Summer Meeting 2025: "Measurement error and information bias in epidemiological research". Among confirmed speakers are Alissa Koski (McGill University, Canada), Pamela A. Shaw, (University of Washington, Seattle), Maarten van Smeden (Julius Center for Health Sciences and Primary Care, UMC the Netherlands) and others. The Summer Meeting will take place on 2nd June 2025, at 10-18 in Section of Social Medicine, Department of Public Health, University of Copenhagen. Would you like to present your work at the DES Summer meeting June 2nd, 2025? We are excited to announce the upcoming Summer Meeting of the Danish Epidemiological Society on June 2nd, 2025 in Copenhagen with a stellar line-up of Danish and international speakers. This year, our meeting is focused on information bias and measurement error, and we want to hear how our members work with or around these.
We are looking for epidemiologists who would like to give a short (approx. 10 min) oral presentation covering the topic of information bias or measurement error in epidemiological research. You are therefore invited to contribute to this event by submitting an abstract of your work. Four abstracts will be selected for presentations, providing an excellent opportunity to share your findings and engage with fellow epidemiologists.
Submission Guidelines:
- Topic: We welcome presentations broadly related to information bias/misclassification/measurement error, including, but not limited to: methods development, applied and descriptive examples, and use of methods to correct for such errors and biases.
- Abstract Length: Maximum 300 words
- Deadline: May 1st, 2025

- Submissions from researchers at any career level are welcomed
- Selected speakers will be notified 1-2 weeks after the abstract submission deadline.

IPSEN-OLSEN LECTURE with professor Maria Glymour, May 20, 2025 in Aarhus Maria Glymour (she/her) is Professor and Chair of the Department of Epidemiology at Boston University School of Public Health. Her research examines how social factors experienced across the lifecourse, from infancy to adulthood, influence cognitive function, dementia, stroke, and other health outcomes in aging. A separate theme of her research focuses on overcoming methodological problems encountered in analyses of the social determinants of health, Alzheimer's disease, and dementia. Pharmacoepidemiology Summer School 2025 16-20 June in Grenaa, Denmark
Department of Clinical Epidemiology in Aarhus is excited to host its 10th annual Pharmacoepidemiology Summer School. This year’s week-long course is titled “(Randomized) trials and (systematic) errors: a pharmacoepidemiology bootcamp,” and includes diverse topics relevant to studying safety and effectiveness of interventions using epidemiological methods. The courses target audience are PhD students, postdocs, clinicians, and other professionals seeking to advance their skills and knowledge. CLEPAN is a free, interactive learning platform developed by researchers at Aarhus University to introduce key concepts and methods in clinical epidemiology. Permanent position available as a researcher in the Department of Chronic Diseases, Division of Public Health and Prevention, Norwegian Institute of Public Health in Oslo.
Join an interdisciplinary research group focused on advanced epidemiological methods and innovative use of data from national health registries. The position is initially linked to the research project Registry tool for stroke prevention in atrial fibrillation in Norway (RegTool AFNOR), which works on stroke prevention for patients with atrial fibrillation through data analysis and modeling.
